About the Embassy
The Norwegian Embassy has 13 employees (diplomats and local staff) and covers a wide range of activities with the overall objective to promote Norwegian interests in Greece and Cyprus. Apart from political and economic reporting, business and cultural promotion, the embassy offers advice and assistance to Norwegian citizens visiting and living in Greece and Cyprus.
Reporting to the Head of Administration, the Consular/Administrative Officer will inter alia perform the following tasks:
Consular:
• Provide assistance and advice to individual Norwegian citizens (consular affairs according to rules and regulations). Consular services, including issuing passports, emergency travel documents and processing visa applications.
• Respond to questions by Norwegian, Greek and Cypriot citizens regarding consular affairs, visa and residence cases.
• Maintain contact with Greek and Cypriot Authorities and institutions.
• Participate in the Embassy’s emergency preparedness planning.
Archive:
• Focal point for following up the Embassy’s physical and electronic archives.
• Train and advise all staff on correct use of P360, the electronic archiving management system of the Embassy.
• Carry out other administrative routines and tasks as required by the Embassy management.
Qualifications
The following qualifications are required:
o University education, bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with relevant professional experience. Long and relevant experience may substitute for higher education.
o Good communications skills and fluency (written and oral) in Norwegian.
o Good communication skills and fluency (written and oral) in English.
o Good knowledge of Greek society and language.
o Proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Office.
The following qualifications will be an advantage:
o Experience from work with Embassy/consular, immigration, or Greek public administration, archive work included.
o Good knowledge of ICT.

Note:
• All candidates must have legal residency and hold a valid work permit in Greece.
• Staff members recruited as local staff in the embassy are subjected to terms and conditions of service according to Greek law.
• References will be contacted for shortlisted candidates.
• Salary will be determined according to qualifications and experience.
• Full time position at the embassy is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
