Restrictions on entry into Norway (Covid-19)

Norway has implemented entry restrictions to Norway due to the spread of COVID-19. There are limited possibilities to hand in applications at the Embassy due to Danish Covid-19 restrictions.

From April 16th 2021 all applicants applying for a residence permit will have to provide biometric data by meeting in person to submit their application at the Embassy in Copenhagen. It will not be possible to submit applications at Norwegian embassies in Iceland, Poland or the Czech Republic.

For Au pair applicants:

  • Due to the Covid-19 travel restrictions in Norway, the Norwegian Immigration Directorate (UDI) only process applications from Au pair applicants if they can comply with the following: Information for au pair applicants

For all applicants:

  • The schedule for October 2021 for applicants will be released in September.  Please book your appointment by logging on your UDI profile
  • Please bring your Danish "coronapas" (corona sertificate) with you when handling in documents at the Embassy

All foreign nationals with a valid residence permit or a short-stay visa, or an entry visa must be aware of additional travel restrictions that might be in place in the EU/EEA/Schengen area at the time of your travel. Due to the outbreak of the Corona virus, many countries, including Norway, have applied additional measures or restrictions, such as pre-travel covid-19 test and/or quarantine requirements.

Information regarding entry and quarantine requirements for Norway is found on the following websites:

NOTE: For applicants residing outside Denmark who have an appointment at the Norwegian embassy in Copenhagen – please be aware of the restrictions on entering Denmark.
