Restrictions on entry into Norway (Covid-19)

Entry restrictions due to Covid-19 are lifted, and foreigners who have the right to enter Norway under the Immigration Act may travel to Norway.

All applicants applying for a residence permit will have to provide biometric data by meeting in person to submit their application at the Embassy in Copenhagen. It will not be possible to submit applications at Norwegian embassies in Iceland, Poland or the Czech Republic. 

The entry restrictions introduced due to the corona situation have been lifted. All foreigners who have the right to entry according to the rules of the Immigration Act can travel to Norway now. You can travel to Norway if you:

  • have a valid residence permit, or you have a right of residence in Norway
  • have a valid visitor´s visa or entry visa to Norway
  • have the right to visit Norway without a visa
  • are going to apply for protection (asylum) in Norway

NOTE: For applicants residing outside Denmark who have an appointment at the Norwegian embassy in Copenhagen – please be aware of restrictions on entering Denmark.
