- Identify opportunities for cooperation between Norwegian and U.S. authorities, educational and research institutions, and other stakeholders.
- Support visits, meetings, events and delegations through preparation, outreach and practical coordination.
- Contribute flexibly to the Consulate General’s broader work and priorities as needed.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues and produce concise, high-quality reports and briefing materials on deadline.
- Excellent written and spoken English. Norwegian or another Scandinavian language, or the ability to work with Norwegian-language materials, is an advantage but not required.
- Relevant knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to engage with, technology, research, innovation, higher education, public policy or business.
- Sound judgment, discretion and integrity, including when handling sensitive information and representing the Consulate General.
- Initiative, intellectual curiosity and the ability to work independently within agreed priorities while coordinating closely with colleagues.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, deliver reliably and move comfortably between substantive and practical tasks.
Relevant professional experience and an established network in the Bay Area are preferred but not required. Candidates will be assessed on their overall qualifications, experience and potential.
