At the SIS reception

Reception with American University SIS Students

On Friday, August 26, the Embassy hosted incoming master's students at American University's School of International Service (SIS) at a reception in the Atlantic Hall.

The Embassy has a longstanding relationship with SIS, especially regarding its exchange program with the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). The group was welcomed by International Education Advisor Urd Milbury, and speakers included Deputy Head of Mission Torleiv Opland, Trade and Industry Counselor Martin Aamodt Stensland, SIS Dean Shannon Hader, SIS Associate Dean Michael Schroeder, SIS Global Environmental Politics Chair Judith Shapiro, SIS professor Randall Henning, and current SIS student Damian Miia Benskin.

The students learned about the opportunity to study at NMBU in Norway for a semester and were able to discuss what it is like to have a diplomatic career with Embassy representatives.
