Applicants are strongly advised to exercise caution when dealing with visa agents. They often charge high fees, offer false information, and in some cases have been found to compromise the overall credibility of an application by encouraging applicants to falsify information and documentation.
Providing materially false or manifestly misleading information in a visa or residence permit case can form the basis for expulsion, see the Immigration Act section 66 letter a.
The Embassy has recently seen an increase in scams targeting individuals seeking visitor's visa and/or temporary work permits for Norway. Scammers falsely claim they can secure jobs, often demanding payment in exchange for fraudulent work offers.
Please stay alert and always confirm with the employer before trusting an agent.
