The Nordic Film Festival (NFF)
The Nordic Film Festival is an annual event that showcases a curated selection of Nordic’s films. The festival is organised by the Embassies of Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway and Sweden, in collaboration with The Projector.
This year the festival is held 13 – 21 September 2024.

The Norwegian film
The Norwegian film chosen to represent Norway on this year’s festival is “Listen Up!”, a film based on the bestseller novel “Hør Her’a!” by Gulraiz Sharif.
The first-time director Kaveh Tehrani has pictured the history of the Pakistani teenager Mahmoud (13), during a summer vacation that has turned out to be totally different from what he was expecting to be.
His hysterically funny Uncle Ji comes all the way from Pakistan to visit the rest of the family in Norway. Mahmoud is given the task of being his uncle’s Guide in Oslo, together with his young brother Ali (9) who doesn’t behave like other boys. When Ali wants to start living as Alia the entire family turns upside down and changes drastically.
Listen Up! deals with culture integration, gender identity and family values filled with hilarious critics of the Norwegian middle class and its minorities.
