Viktig informasjon vedrørende konsulære tjenester
Den norske ambassaden i Nairobi jobber med å forbedre kapasiteten for pass-søknader, søknader om fødselsnummer og andre konsulære tjenester vi yter norske statsborgere som oppholder seg i Kenya og Somalia. Foreløpig er antallet forespørsler om avtaler høyere enn ambassadens kapasitet, noe som fører til lange ventetider. Vi beklager eventuelle ulemper dette kan medføre for deg og din familie. Pr. i dag har vi ingen ledige timer for passfornyelser før februar 2024.
Du oppfordres til å sjekke timebestillings-systemet for kanselleringer og nye avtaler som vil bli frigitt etter hvert som kapasiteten vår forbedres. Ambassaden mottar mange e-poster fra kunder daglig, dette belaster vår kapasitet. Du oppfordres til å lese automatsvaret vårt grundig og å besøke vår hjemmeside for ytterligere informasjon.
Hvis svaret på spørsmålet ditt finnes på ambassadens hjemmesider, vil vi ikke svare på e-posten din.
Vær oppmerksom på at dersom du har gyldig pass og kan reise, kan du søke om passfornyelse ved andre norske ambassader i regionen, samt hos politiet i Norge.
Når du søker om nytt pass annet sted enn Nairobi, kan du be om at det nye passet sendes direkte til ambassaden i Nairobi for henting.
Important notice regarding consular services
The Norwegian Embassy in Nairobi is working to improve the capacity for passport applications, applications for National Identity Number and other consular services we provide for Norwegian citizens in Kenya and Somalia. The embassy also receives many e-mails from applicants daily which is taking time from actual case handling. If the answer to your question can be found on the embassy’s webpage then we will not answer your e-mail.
Currently the amount of requests for appointments are higher than the embassy’s capacity, which leads to long waiting times. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and your family. In the meantime, we encourage the public to check the system for cancellations and new appointments which will be released as our capacity improves. We also encourage the public to read our automatic replies thoroughly, and to visit our webpage for further information.
Please note that if you have a valid passport, you can apply for passport renewal at any Norwegian embassy, as well as at the police in Norway.
When you submit your application you can request the new passport to be sent directly to the embassy in Nairobi for passport collection upon your return.
If you have an urgent need for travel related to strong welfare reasons, please write to the embassy at consular.nairobi@mfa.no to inform us about your situation and document your need for an emergency passport. Please include the name and date of birth of the applicant.
