Both Vågå Musikkforening and Bjølsen seniorkorps is one of Norway`s oldest brass bands. Vågå Musikkforening was founded in 1885 in Vågå Municipality in Oppland County, while Bjølsen seniorkorps was founded in Bjølsen, a district in Oslo.

The brass bands have a solid reputation for performing Norwegian traditional music, and over the years they performed on a number of events in Norway. For Vågå Musikkforening one of the most important goals is to make a good environment for the band members in all age groups, and to secure equality and improve the members musical qualities.

The bands have maintained its unique musical style over the years, and have made a name for themselves nationally, and now also internationally. The members are proud of the band`s heritage and will continue to spread Norwegian traditional music to both Norway and other countries.
