The opening of the Norwegian Honorary Consulate in Split, could finally be celebrated

The Norwegian Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Haakon Blankenborg had Tuesday, 10 May 2022 the pleasure to invite and formally celebrate the opening of the consulate in Split with the “new” honorary consul, Ms. Marina Šare Tudor, as guest of honor.

The official opening of the consulate in Split took place in March 2020, but as a result of Covid-19 restrictions, the formal celebration of the consulate was postponed several times.

It was therefore with great pleasure that H.E. Mr. Haakon Blankenborg could finally welcome the guests and hand over the official letter from the former Foreign Minister of Norway, Ms. Søreide Eriksen where Ms. Šare Tudor is appointed as Honorary Consul.

In her speech, Ms. Šare Tudor said: “I would like to say how honoured I am to be appointed as the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Norway in Split and will do my best to promote the interests of the Kingdom of Norway, to assist Norwegian citizens in good and bad times and to revitalize our friendship with fruitful mutual projects”.

The reception was attended by representatives from the local government, consular corps, the University and University Hospital of Split, along with representatives from the cultural sector, business contacts, Association of Norwegian Students Abroad, as well as friends and family.
