The first two calls for Croatian civil society organizations are now published. Through the Active Citizens Fund Norway has made available 8,5 million EUR for strengthening civil society in Croatia.
The Active Citizens Fund is part of the EEA and Norway Grants in Croatia. Its objective is to strengthen civil society and to empower vulnerable groups by focusing on capacity building, democratic participation, active citizenship and human rights.
Strengthening relations between civil society organizations from Croatia and Norway via joint projects is another important objective of the fund. A number of matchmaking events will be organized, with the first taking place in April, in order to help establish contact between NGOs in Croatia, Norway and other donor countries. The Norwegian Helsinki Committee is tasked with facilitating contacts with Norwegian CSOs.
