Norwegian film Twin Sisters showing at DOKUart film festival

Last updated: 02.10.2015 // The Norwegian film Twin Sisters, directed by Mona Friis Bertheussen, will be screened at the DOKUart film festival in Bjelovar on Monday 5 October.

The film tells the remarkable story of two twin sisters through a parallel journey, until they meet again when they are 8 years old in Norway. It is a powerful story about sibling love, human dilemma and fate.

The film’s description reads: “In 2003, two babies were found in a cardboard box in a Chinese village and adopted into two different corners of the world. One of them to a little village in Norway, surrounded by high mountains and deep fjords. The other one to a big city in the USA. The adoptive parents had no idea that there was a twin sister. Their sisterhood was meant to be kept a secret. However, destiny had other plans.”

DOKUart is a documentary film festival that takes place every year in Croatia. This year’s festival is scheduled to take place at the Cultural and Media Centre Cinema in Bjelovar (approximately 100 km from Zagreb) between October 3-10.

Since its establishment in 2006, the film festival has screened 135 movies from 25 countries and has been attended by more than 11 000 people.
