MUNCH at the Zagreb Fountains

To mark the opening of the New MUNCH museum on Friday 22 October, images of the most famous Munch's paintings were displayed on the biggest fountain in Zagreb, placed in the southern part of the city centre, welcoming the visitors.

In the evening of the museum opening, citizens of Zagreb and its guests had the opportunity to enjoy in Munch's art. To make the experience available even to those outside of Zagreb, the Embassy produced a video of the screening. 

The display was organised in cooperation with the Office of the Mayor of Zagreb and was announced by Ambassador Mr.Haakon Blankenborg.

In addition, the Ambassador was invited to guest the popular Croatian TV show „Good Morning Croatia“, together with the Curator from „Klovićevi Dvori Gallery“ Ms Iva Sudec Andreis, whose wish is to organise a Munch exhibition in Zagreb.

Press visit to Oslo for journalists of Croatian TV was also organised by the Embassy, resulting in an extensive TV coverage of the New MUNCH museum, increasing the interest among Croats for this extraordinary painter.
