Passports for children

Passport applications are submitted in person at the Embassy in Tel Aviv. You must book an appointment in advance. To book an appointment, go to Booking an appointment

Both parents/legal guardians must appear in person at the embassy to give their consent for the passport application. Consent can be given for a one-time passport issuance or as lasting consent for all passport issuances until the child turns 18 years.

It is not possible to apply for a Norwegian passport without a Norwegian ID-number. People without a Norwegian ID must first follow these procedures: First time passport and personal ID-number (LINK)

Claims of legal custody need to be supported by documentation.

In accordance with the Norwegian Passport Act §3, it is a condition for entitlement to a Norwegian passport that you provide proof of your identity and your Norwegian citizenship. The same rules and procedures apply for both first time applications and applications for renewal.

This means that if you have an Israeli or any other citizenship, you need to provide us with a document/certificate that states the date when the citizenship was acquired, and under what grounds you received the citizenship.

Required documents at the appointment:

  • The child's passport that will be renewed and, if expired, another valid passport
  • Valid passport for both guardians
  • A printed confirmation of payment of application fee (can be sent to us by email in advance of the appointment) For information regarding payment, go to: Payment information
