Visitor’s visa and residence permit
A visitor's visa allows you to stay in Norway or other Schengen countries for up to 90 days over a period of 180 days. A residence permit gives you the opportunity to work in Norway and to stay for more than 90 days.
Information to applicants residing in Israel: Applications for visitor’s visa and residence permit for Norway are handled by the Norwegian Embassy in Amman. All applications are to be submitted through VFS Global in Tel Aviv.
As of 26 November 2021, entry restrictions due to Covid-19 are lifted, and foreigners who have the right to enter Norway under the Immigration Act may travel to Norway. You must apply for a visa if this is required.
Your visa does not exempt you from travel restrictions and other measures in place within the EU/EEA/Schengen area in response to the Corona virus. You must familiarize yourself with the rules that apply for your destination before entering the Schengen area.

Therefore, we strongly recommend that applications are submitted, as early as possible, ahead of planned departure date. Applicants applying from Tel Aviv are kindly requested to apply, at least 25 days ahead of the planned departure date.
