The Norwegian Consulate General in Guangzhou

Welcome to the Royal Norwegian Consulate General in Guangzhou. The Consulate General, established in July 2008, has the administrative responsibility for the following provinces; Guangdong, Fujian, Hainan and Guangxi. The Consul General is Hege Araldsen.

Our activities fall into four main categories. We assist Norwegian business interests and promote Sino-Norwegian industrial partnerships, in particular within the within the energy, maritime and construction sectors.  We promote Norwegian seafood and the unique travel experiences that Norway offers. Through our public diplomacy efforts we aim to leave behind a modern footprint of Norway. Through analysis and reporting we try to comprehend and predict the development of modern China. And last but not least, we assist Norwegian citizens and run an efficient and service-minded visa section which issues visas to Norway and Sweden.

The Consulate General in Guangzhou works closely with the Norwegian Consulate General in Shanghai and the Norwegian Embassy in Beijing to realise the potential of an all-China approach.

The Consulate General would strongly encourage anyone with an interest in or an idea for activities in South China to contact us. Together we can make a difference.

The greatest opportunities in South China are still ahead of us.
