Innovation Norway is seeking a Market Advisor/Senior Market Advisor in our Shanghai office, jointly located with the Norwegian Consulate General.

As a Market Advisor/Senior Market Advisor for Innovation Norway China, you will be part of our team working to support Norwegian businesses in entering and growing their position in the Chinese market. In addition to Innovation Norway colleagues in China and Norway, you will work in close collaboration with Team Norway China, most notably the Norwegian Consulate General in Shanghai, the Norwegian Embassy in Beijing, the Norwegian Business Association China, and relevant Norwegian clusters and competence centres.
This is a position with substantial autonomy within maritime green transition/ocean technologies. The following competencies are of particular relevance:
- Knowledge of decarbonization processes; policymaking and legislation.
- Experience with relevant business models and market fit for products and services.
- Project management and execution.
Role and responsibilities:
- Identify and promote relevant opportunities in the Chinese market to Norwegian businesses and industry.
- Maintain and expand business networks within relevant sectors in China and Norway.
- Conduct and publish market updates to ensure continuous market intelligence in relevant sectors and segments. Advice on technologies, needs and solutions.
- Plan, organise and run events, market visits, webinars, and meetings.
Essential criteria:
We are looking for a hands-on, collaborative, and result-driven colleague. We expect you to have a commercial mindset, a passion for technology, and a proven business development track record in the Chinese market. In addition, the ideal candidate will have established networks with Chinese businesses, authorities, and other relevant stakeholders. Fluency in Chinese and English is a must.

The candidate will be expected to undertake occasional travel throughout China and to Norway. The role reports to Innovation Norway’s Country Manager, based in Beijing, and will be integrated in Innovation Norway’s team in China.
