The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Ankara represents Norway in Türkiye and is responsible for a broad range of fields. The Embassy is also accredited to Azerbaijan. In addition to staff posted to Türkiye from Norway, the Embassy has 22 locally employed staff. The Norwegian Embassy in Ankara is currently looking for a new housekeeper/cleaner for the Ambassador’s Residence. The candidate will be employed as a local staff at the Norwegian Embassy, but the main workplace will be at the Ambassador’s residence. The candidate may be required to work occasionally at the Embassy, and will take part in seminars, meetings and training with other local staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform housekeeping duties in the Residence.
- Keep the premises clean and tidy.
- Keep inventory and administer supplies of cleaning materials and other related materials for keeping up the premises.
- Participate in planning and organizing of events and functions, incl serving.
- Responsible for purchasing supplies for entertainment in the residence.
- Welcoming and assisting with access for guests.
- Liaise with building maintenance and security.
- Assist in overseeing of all maintenance of the premises in cooperation with staff in the embassy.
- Carry out other tasks assigned by the Head of Mission or Head of Administration.
- Work outside normal working hours will be required.
Qualifications:
The following qualifications are required:
- Relevant experience, preferably from an embassy or international organisation.
- Good communication skills in English and Turkish (written and oral).
- Good organisational skills, ability to take directions, respond to challenges and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively and independently but is also a team player.
- An understanding of ethical work practices, information privacy, confidentiality and security principles.
The following qualifications will be an advantage:
- High School diploma
All candidates must have legal residency and be eligible for a work permit in Türkiye.
Salary will be set on the basis of qualifications and experience. Currency of salary payments are TRY, and a 15 % deduction to SGK will apply. Depending on nationality and residency status, income tax will be applicable to Turkey or Norway.
