Some people do not need a visa to visit Norway because they hold a passport from a country that Norway has a visa exemption agreement with, they have a residence permit in an EU/EEA country or they have a special passport.

What to bring when travelling to Norway
- Passport
- Guarantee declaration or proof of sufficient funds to cover the stay in Norway
- The invitation letter (when required for the application) + proof of family ties with a reference person in Norway in Norwegian or English (if applicable)
- Travel medical insurance
- Valid return ticket (especially when the purpose is tourism or private visits. However, we recommend all travellers to bring a print out of the ticket.)
- Decision letter from UDI (if residence permit was granted)
