The incumbent will join the Business and Political Team, assuming responsibility for the Embassy’s strategic communication activities. This individual will produce digital and social media content to ensure consistent messaging, while also handling essential administrative functions.
Main tasks:
- Develop, evaluate and execute communication plans.
- Craft high-impact, strategic content tailored for diverse platforms to drive engagement and achieve goals.
- Monitor internal and external channels of communication, including written and digital.
- Coordinate, implement, and support various events and campaigns.
- Maintain good media relations and develop integrated media strategies.
- Forge strong relationships with strategic partners to optimize collaboration.
- Drafting diplomatic speeches.
Responsibilities:
- Propose, implement and monitor approved communications plans.
- Propose and execute events that promote Norwegian culture and foster institutional ties across the maritime, energy, arts and education sectors.
- Create public relations materials such as press releases, social media posts, etc.
- Pro-active media strategy and content scheduling.
- Prompt, real-time social media updates for events.
- Publish upcoming events and programs on social media immediately.
- Track and report analytics on communications campaigns.
- Update the embassy webpage per instructions.
- Maintain and monitor inventory of audio video equipment and paraphernalia.
- Other duties as assigned.
The Head of Mission may change the candidate’s duties and responsibilities when needed.
Education
- Advanced university degree (preferably a master’s degree) in the field of Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, or equivalent professional experience in the communication areas.
Knowledge and Experience
- A minimum of five years’ working experience in a diplomatic environment or international organization.
- With strong professional relationship with the media. Solid active network of journalist and editor contacts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 360 tools.
- Proficiency in photography, designing and editing with Canva, Adobe Express Premium, etc.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills.
- Fluency in English is required.

The Embassy can offer a competitive salary, supportive working environment, where staff members work in a cooperative spirit across program areas and sectors, with well-regulated work conditions. Working hours, Monday to Friday 08:00 - 15:30, but with some flexibility. Located in a modern, functional office within Bonifacio Global City, Metro Manila, the Embassy operates with a team of 26 staff members.
The role of Communications Advisor may involve some travel.
