The world's challenges must be solved jointly

This week world leaders, Heads of States and Governments from all over the world meet at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

A number of major common challenges such as climate, environment and development issues will be discussed. It's a unique meeting place where the world comes together to talk about the small and big issues of today.

"We need a strong UN to solve many of the major issues we see in the world today. The opening of the UN General Assembly is a unique arena for promoting Norwegian interests and initiatives and, not least, international cooperation, "said Foreign Minister Brende.

The Norwegian delegation is headed by Prime Minister Erna Solberg, together with Foreign Minister Børge Brende and Minister for Climate and the Environment Vidar Helgesen. The Norwegian parlamant The Storting is also represented with several members of parlament.
