Five new trainees arrived from Norway last month, and have already started working closely with their mentors at the Mission. With a historic year for Norway here at the UN, they will be working hard, but they are all very excited to gain invaluable experience, working with the world’s key international organization.
Vilde Øyvindsdatter Askautrud (23) from Drøbak is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Oslo. Vilde will be working with peace and security issues, focusing on the Security Council, First Committee and the Peacebuilding Commission.
August Rud Jacobsen (24) from Oslo recently graduated from the dual bachelor’s program between Sciences Po Paris and UC Berkeley, where he majored in political economy. August will be working on development issues, with a special focus on Financing for Development and UN funds and programmes.
Morten Wilhelm Damm (24) from Oslo is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Law at the University of Bergen. Morten will be spending his time in New York working on legal issues, such as the law of the seas and counter-terrorism.
Christian Asdahl (24) from Porsgrunn is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Law at the University of Oslo, including a semester at the Penn State University. He has experience working as a trainee the law firm DLA Piper. He will be working with elections, press and communications.
Christian Emilio Carli (24) from Oslo is currently studying Political Communication at Kristiania University College in Oslo. He has previous experience in the private sector working with communications. He will be working with press and communications.
