How can I book an appointment?
Please send the following information to consular.tehran@mfa.no to book an appointment:
- Your full name as written in your Norwegian passport and the Norwegian National Population Register
- Date of birth
- Phone number
- Preferred date for appointment
What is required for the appointment?
- Everyone applying for a passport must appear in person
- Submit valid Norwegian passport. Previous passports must be submitted when applying for a new passport. If you do not have your passport, please bring another valid ID with your personal ID-number and picture.
- During the appointment you must provide biometric information; capture a photo, two fingerprints, and a signature.
- Cash payment of the passport fee payable at the embassy only in banknote. Passport fee: EUR 120 for people over 16 years of age
If you are applying for a passport for your children:
- Valid Norwegian passport. If the passport expired more than three months ago, another ID document and the original birth certificate must be presented. The birth certificate must be legalised.
- All applicants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent. Both parents must give consent in person. The parents do not need to come to the appointment together, if consent has been given at a Norwegian foreign mission or police station in Norway prior to the appointment. Parents may give permanent consent that is valid until the child is 18 years old. For more information about consent, see information here (Norwegian only).
- During the appointment the child must provide biometric information.
- Parents' valid passports, Norwegian parents must present their Norwegian passport or ID-card.
- Cash payment of the passport fee payable at the embassy only in banknote, Passports cost EUR 70 for children under 16 years of age, EUR 120 above 16 years of age.
Processing time:
If your application is accepted, the passport(s) will be produced in Norway and sent to the Embassy in Tehran upon completion. Estimated processing time is currently between one and two months.
