Political analyst – Royal Norwegian Embassy, Tehran
The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Tehran is seeking a new political analyst (full-time). We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our embassy team. The successful candidate will monitor political and security developments in Iran and the region and provide timely assessments and advice.
Main Responsibilities:
- Researching, monitoring, and analyzing political developments at local, national, and international levels.
- Produce high-quality reports, policy briefs, background papers, and analytical assessments.
- Gathering information from a variety of sources, including official publications, policy papers, academic research, media reports, and public statements.
- Preparing analytical reports, briefings, summaries, and presentations for internal or external stakeholders.
- Evaluating political trends, government decisions, and public policy initiatives.
- Maintaining awareness of relevant political events, stakeholder positions, and institutional developments.
- Presenting findings in a clear, objective, and structured manner.
- The embassy may change the responsibilities if deemed
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Master’s degree in political science, international relations, international affairs, law, economics, or related fields. Extensive relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a master's degree.
- Demonstrated knowledge of international affairs, foreign policy, and regional political developments.
- Excellent command of English and Farsi, both oral and written.
- Proficiency in standard office IT systems (Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.).
- Experience working in government, international organizations, diplomatic missions, research institutions, or related fields is desirable.
