Honorary Consuls are appointed by the Norwegian government, but are usually nationals of the host country.
The Consuls do not receive a salary from the Norwegian government, but have agreed to represent Norway in their region on a voluntary basis. Their main task is to provide consular assistance to Norwegian citizens, promote Norwegian interests and further Norwegian-British co-operation in their region.
