Vacancy notice - Adviser for EEA and Norway Grants

The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Warsaw is recruiting a new staff member. The Embassy covers political, economic and cultural issues as well as consular matters. Our main aim is to further develop close bilateral relations between Poland and Norway.

One of the Embassy’s core tasks is our work on the EEA and Norway Grants to Poland, which contribute to social and economic cohesion and enhancing bilateral cooperation.  

Poland is the biggest beneficiary of the EEA Norway Grants with a vast cooperation covering a diverse portfolio and outreach such as strong support to civil society, energy, green transition, research, justice, and culture. The new staff member will be working in a team following up the EEA and Norway Grants’ different programs and projects, promoting the Grants and their benefits. The work will be carried out in close cooperation the main Polish and Norwegian stakeholders.   

Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to Norwegian - Polish bilateral cooperation under the EEA and Norway Grants.
  • Working closely with respective authorities, the Financial Mechanism Office in Brussels, as well as implementing partners.
  • Providing updated information on topics relevant to the different programs and projects within the cooperation agreement for the EEA and Norway Grants.
  • Advising and assisting Norwegian and Polish partners in areas of cooperation.
  • Maintaining a large network of contacts within public and private sector, organisations, institutions, and civil society.
  • Supporting strategic communication activities.
  • Drafting briefing notes, reports and speeches, as required.
  • Attending and representing the Embassy at various events.

Requirements:

  • Higher education in public administration, political science, law or similar.
  • Some years of previous relevant working experience.
  • Analytical mindset and ability to manage multiple priorities to achieve high-quality deliverables.
  • Good insight into key European and Polish/local political issues and priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex issues under time pressure.
  • Personal skills: result-oriented, communicative, flexible and responsible.
  • To be a team player is an absolute must.
  • Fluent spoken and written English, knowledge of one of the Scandinavian languages is an advantage.
