Policy and Business Adviser

Would you like to work as part of a team promoting Norway in Mexico? The Norwegian Embassy in Mexico City is now recruiting a Policy and Business Adviser.

We are a small embassy with a dynamic team covering a very broad range of issues accredited to Mexico and six countries in Central America.

We are looking for a new colleague who is creative, analytical, flexible, self-driven and who enjoys working in a fast-moving environment. You must have a vast knowledge of Mexican politics, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be a team player, have good organizational skills, and be fluent in Spanish and English.

As our Policy and Business Adviser, you will work closely with the rest of the political team in the Embassy and you will:

  • Develop and maintain a strong network of contacts within local, state and federal government, civic bodies, think tanks, the business community, political parties, and others concerned with political and economic issues in Mexico.
  • Be the Embassy’s contact point for the Norwegian business community in Mexico and coordinate the Embassy’s business promotion activities.
  • Update and advise the Ambassador and relevant mission staff on political, social and economic developments in Mexico.
  • Assist in coordination and planning of meetings and events, as well as organizing trips for the Ambassador to relevant Mexican states.
  • Write speeches and prepare presentations and other material for the Ambassador and relevant mission staff.
  • Represent the Embassy in meetings and events.
  • Support in the management of small grants
  • Answer general requests for information from the public and business community.

Salary range approx.  $45,000- $52,000 MXN gross per month (according to experience). Benefits exceed the set levels of Mexican law.

Work hours Mon-Thurs 8:30-4:30, Fri 8:30-1:30.
