President,

Norway takes note of the positive steps taken by Canada since its last review, [including the establishment of the SRHR Fund and the launch of the National Action Plan to End Gender-Based Violence].

Norway recommends Canada to:

Intensify its efforts to improve access to health and welfare services for its indigenous people, particularly women and girls;

Continue its efforts to improve access to reproductive and sexual health services, with emphasis on facilitating equal access to abortion, across all provinces and territories;

Ensure adequate human and financial resources for the implementation of the National Action Plan to End Gender-Based Violence, at all levels of government;

Ratify the Optional Protocol to the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment.

Thank you.
