Norway thanks the Chair of the Commission of Inquiry for the presentation of the Commission’s report.
The human suffering of the latest Gaza war was unacceptable. Norway has condemned the high number of civilians killed, and therefore we have called for serious investigations which can ensure accountability for any crimes committed under international law.
Norway also urges the international community to intensify their assistance for the reconstruction of Gaza. We remind of the fact that only a negotiated settlement of the conflict can guarantee peace and security for all civilians in the area.
Furthermore, Norway shares the opinion of the EU of the report as expressed in their statement and the questions the EU has addressed to the commission.
