Nikolai Astrup

New Minister of International Development

On 17 January 2018 Mr Nikolai Astrup of The Conservative Party (‘Høyre’) was appointed Minister of International Development in an extraordinary session of the Council of State.

Astrup assumes responsibility for development policy work (outside the OSCE area, the Middle East, North Africa and Afghanistan), development cooperation with the UN system, the World Bank, regional development banks and other global funds and programs, as well as Norad, Fredskorpset and Norfund.
