أستهدفت قوات الأمن السودانية خلال فترة الحكم العسكري قبل ثلاثة سنوات في 3 يونيو 2019 مظاهرة سلمية خارج القيادة العامة في الخرطوم ، مما أسفر عن مقتل أكثر من 100 شخص في مذبحة وحشية. وبينما بدأت الحكومة الانتقالية التي يقودها المدنيون تحقيقًا رسميًا في المذبحة في سبتمبر 2019 ، لم تقدم لجنة التحقيق حتى الآن نتائجها للجمهور أو توصي باتهامات ضد المسؤولين عن هذه الأعمال المشينة.

Three years ago, on June 3, 2019, during a period of military rule, Sudanese security forces targeted a peaceful protest outside military headquarters in Khartoum, killing more than 100 people in a brutal massacre. While the civilian-led transitional government initiated a formal inquiry into the massacre in September 2019, the investigative committee has yet to report its findings to the public or recommend charges against the individuals responsible for these reprehensible acts.
The Troika (Norway, the United Kingdom and the United States) stands in solidarity with the survivors and victims and joins Sudanese in calling for the prompt resolution of the government-appointed investigation into the massacre and disclosure of findings to the public. We urge the military authorities to bring those accountable for these horrendous crimes against peaceful civilian protesters to justice.
We also call upon the authorities to adopt further confidence-building measures, to support the UNITAMS-AU-IGAD facilitated political process, strengthen rule of law and respect for human rights, and for the security forces to refrain from excessive violence against peaceful protesters.
