As Head of Norway’s Mission to Sudan I want to address the Sudanese people today, three years into this brutal war.
I extend my deepest sympathies to all Sudanese who have suffered loss and gone through profound hardship.
Norway condemns the atrocities committed by the warring parties and calls for a humanitarian truce, unhindered access, and the protection of civilians. Hospitals, schools, markets, aid workers, and civilian infrastructure must never be targets.
Even in this dark chapter, the resilience of Sudanese communities stands out, and gives hope for a brighter future for the people of Sudan. We recognize the extraordinary courage of women-led initiatives, youth networks, and local responders
Norway firmly supports a Sudanese-led and Sudanese-owned political process.
We also remain steadfast in our support for Sudan’s unity and territorial integrity. Fragmentation would only deepen instability within Sudan and across the region.
Let me assure the Sudanese people: Norway has not forgotten the people of Sudan. We remain committed to working with you in pursuit of peace and recovery.
