Paternity leave cover
We are looking for a temporary adviser (local employee) to cover for a staff member on paternity leave with a particular focus on business, trade, energy, culture, and public diplomacy. The period will be 1 September to 31 December 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial, Trade, and Energy
- Plan, organize, and manage business and energy-related events and promotional activities, including budget responsibility.
- Coordinate and maintain contact with Norwegian businesses, Norwegian Ministries, Innovation Norway, Nordic embassies, and Dutch partners.
- Contribute to reporting and analysis relevant to Norway’s economic and energy interests in the Netherlands.
- Plan and coordinate business delegations and high-level visits to the Netherlands.
Culture and Communication
- Organize and execute cultural events that showcase Norwegian art, music, literature, and film.
- Contribute to the Embassy’s external communication, including press relations and branding efforts.
- Shared responsibility for content creation and upkeep of the Embassy’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
Administrative Tasks
- Oversee the allocation and administration of grants for Norwegian cultural and business initiatives.
Operational Support
- Assist with basic IT support locally.
- Supervise and mentor the Embassy’s trainees, including onboarding and task coordination.

Qualifications:
- Higher education, preferably at master’s level, in business, energy, international relations, communication, or another relevant field.
- Proven experience in event planning, stakeholder coordination, communication, or grant administration.
- Good written and spoken Norwegian (or another Scandinavian language) and English.
- Knowledge of Dutch is not required but would be an advantage.
- Excellent digital skills, including Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
- Good administrative and organizational ability.

- Team player with a high degree of flexibility.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently in a dynamic work environment.
