New Norwegian Ambassador to the Netherlands

On Tuesday, 4th of September, Mr. Erling Rimestad presented his credentials to His Majesty King Willem-Alexander and officially assumed his duties as Norway's Ambassador to the Netherlands. He succeeds Ambassador Bård Ivar Svendsen, who served in the Netherlands for four years and has now taken up a new position at the Norwegian Embassy in Washington, D.C.

Ambassador Rimestad brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously served as State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Oslo and as Norway’s Ambassador to Japan.

He is excited to begin his tenure in the Netherlands and further strengthen the close ties between Norway and the Netherlands.
