President,
Norway welcomes the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea/DPRK’s participation in the UPR process. We remain deeply concerned about the serious human rights situation [particularly children].
Norway recommends that the DPRK:
1.Facilitates the prompt return of UN agencies and other humanitarian actors and allows unhindered humanitarian access to [people in vulnerable situations in] all [counties and] provinces.
2.Engages with and gives access to the UN Special Rapporteur [and other Special Procedures mandate holders].
3.Protects women and girls against human trafficking and criminalizes all forms of gender-based violence.
4.Protects children from the risk of forced labour, exploitation and military training.
5.[Guarantees the right to freedom of movement for all citizens and ends all restrictions that hinders the free flow of food and medicine within the country].
Thank you.
