Thank you for the update and overview of the main findings in the Global Report 2024.
We agree that 2024 might have been an inflection point in the work of UNHCR, and perhaps in humanitarian action
globally. We recognise the urgent need for increased funding and that the persisting funding gap hinders the ability to deliver essential services such as shelter, healthcare and education.
This requires us to prioritize and reform – and to work in the most cost-effective ways for the benefit of displaced persons and their host communities.
We would also like to highlight the importance of innovative approaches to refugee protection and assistance. From leveraging technology to improved service delivery to fostering partnerships with the private sector, innovation is key to enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of our response efforts.
