CHECK AGAINST DELIVERY

Mr. Chair,

Norway wishes to express its sincere condolences to the relatives and friends of the victims who died when the Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 was downed over eastern Ukraine nearly four years ago.

The information presented by the Joint Investigation Team on May 24th, concludes that the disaster was the result of the use of a BUK missile system belonging to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Norway supports UNSCR 2166 demanding that those responsible for the incident be held to account. Based on the findings of the Joint Investigation Team, Norway asks the Russian Federation to accept its responsibility and to fully cooperate with the Joint Investigation Team in their efforts.

Thank you, Mr. Chair
