Ambassador Lind is a career diplomat and has been with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1991. She entered the diplomatic career program in 1992.
Ambassador Lind has held a diverse range of positions during the course of her career in the Foreign Service. Her first posting abroad was to Cote d'Ivoire in 1994 from where she also covered the Gambia, Mali, Liberia, Senegal, and Guinea–Conakry portfolios, as well as African Development Bank affairs. Since then she has been posted to New York (United Nations) and Brussels (NATO) as political and legal advisor. Ambassador Lind held various positions in the Ministry’s legal department, including Head of the Law of the Sea Division between 1999-2001. She served as the Deputy Head of Mission at the Norwegian Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel from 2005- 2009, where she also acted as principal diplomatic liaison for the Temporary International Presence in Hebron, Palestine. Subsequently, she was seconded by the Ministry to the Middle East and North Africa Vice Presidency of Operations at the World Bank in Washington, DC (2009-2011). At the World Bank, Ambassador Lind's portfolio included projects in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and North Africa. She was appointed Director of Consular Affairs and Immigration at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Oslo in 2011. Prior to her appointment as Ambassador to Lebanon, she served two years as Deputy Head of Mission at the Norwegian Embassy in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Ambassador Lind’s educational background includes a Law Degree from the University of Oslo’s Faculty of Law, specializing in Public International Law, as well as an interfaculty Masters Degree in Social Sciences from the Universities of Oslo and Bergen. She graduated in 1991.
Ambassador Lind is married to Mr. Andrew William Plitt and has two children. She enjoys fitness, outdoor activities and is an animal lover.
