Strengthened support for civil society in Cyprus

Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway are strengthening their support for civil society across Europe through the EEA and Norway Grants. Fund Operators for the EEA Civil Society Fund in Cyprus have now been selected to ensure the important work for a democratic future.

Following an open tender process and a careful assessment of the submitted proposals, the consortium consisting of the NGO Support Centre (lead) and GrantXpert Consulting Ltd. has been selected to serve as Fund Operators of the EEA Civil Society Fund in Cyprus.

The Fund Operators contribute to the Civil Society Fund objective through open calls for proposals, selecting and contracting projects, providing capacity-building support, and other activities.

This marks another key milestone in the implementation of the EEA Civil Society Fund, the largest-ever commitment by the three donor countries to civil society in Europe. The fund amounts to €327 million for the 2021–2028 funding period across Europe. In Cyprus, the Civil Society Fund amounts to 3.3M euros.
