Main responsibilities:
- Monitoring of EEA and Norway Grants to Bulgaria:
- Take part in cooperation committees, information events, and project selection meetings for the programs and the bilateral fund.
- Participate in meetings with the Financial Mechanism Office (FMO), the National Focal Point (NFP), Program/Fund Operators, Project Promoters, and Donor Program Partners.
- Attend and, when requested, help organize project events, site visits, and other relevant activities in Bulgaria.
- Communication on EEA and Norway Grants:
- Support the implementation of the Embassy’s communication plan in Bulgaria.
- Draft speeches, Facebook posts, and other communication materials.
- Collect information from partners and promote relevant activities in line with Norwegian priorities.
- Reporting and analysis:
- Draft reports on developments in Bulgaria, with emphasis on civil society, LGBTQ+ rights, child protection, gender equality, domestic violence, and Roma inclusion.
- Attend relevant meetings and events organized by embassies, authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Other responsibilities:
- Assist with oral and written translation (to/from Bulgarian language) related to consular matters when required
- Monitor political, social, and economic developments in Bulgaria and provide regular updates.
Qualifications and skills:
- Good knowledge of Bulgaria’s political and social context.
- Relevant international experience from studies or employment is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and proactively.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Fluency in Bulgarian and English (spoken and written). Knowledge of Norwegian and/or Romanian is an asset.
- Good digital competence, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and use of social media platforms.
Practical information:
- The office location is at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Bucharest, Romania.
- Some work-related travel to Bulgaria will be required.
- The Embassy will follow Romanian labor law for our local staff. Salary, terms, and conditions will be in accordance with the Romanian legislation as well as Norwegian Foreign Service rules for locally employed staff. Salary is according to qualification and function with a performance-based element.
