Brand Norway

The Norway logo

The main logo for branding Norway is a lockup of the Norwegian flag and the word Norway set in Norway Sans Display. It comes in two variants, positive and negative. The only difference between these is the colour of the wordmark.

Guidelines for the use of the Norway abroad

To ensure Norway's visibility as a donor, we have created these guidelines to ensure unity and correct presentation of our support.

Norway logo

Grant recipients are expected to use the Norway logo in all publications, reports, press releases, and other written materials. The logo should also be used whenever possible in conferences, social media, videos, websites, and other materials related to the project. At project sites, the grant recipient may choose to put up signboards or plaques or display donor information related to the project.

Security Concerns

Grant recipients are always asked to consider security concerns when deciding on the level of visibility activities in a project.

Placement

The logo must always be clearly visible, readable, and harmonized with other elements. Incorrect placement would, for example, be too close to a format edge, different logos, or other graphic elements.

Grant recipients shall not mark their property or visibility items, such as but not limited to office buildings, vehicles, clothing, umbrellas and pens, with the Norway logo.

Norway logo versions

The Norway logo consists of two elements: the flag and descriptive text. The text is available in two versions: positive (black) and negative (white).

The flag should always be presented in colour. If colour printing possibilities are available, it should never be black and white.

Clear Space

The amount of clear space around the logo is equal to the height of the letter N in the wordmark.

This provides ample breathing room for the logo, without other elements causing a distraction to the logo.

Logo translations

The logo is set in English, and in most cases, this is the one to use. There has also been developed a Norwegian version for use in local markets.translations.png

In some cases it will feel natural or necessary to use a translated logo also in other markets. For this purpose the brand Norway logo has been translated into the following languages: French, German, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese. Please see link to available version at the top of the article.
