Visitor’s visa and residence permit
A visitor's visa allows you to stay in Norway or other Schengen countries for up to 90 days over a period of 180 days. A residence permit gives you the opportunity to work in Norway and to stay for more than 90 days.
Citizens of Kyrgyzstan (holding a kyrgyz passport) need to apply for a visitor's visa to enter Norway. If you plan to stay longer than 90 days, you need to apply for a residence permit to enter Norway.

How to apply for a residence permit
The applications must be submitted at the Norwegian visa application centers run by the external service provider VFS Global, either in Kazakhstan (Nur-Sultan and Almaty) or in the Russian Federation. Applications for residence permit in Norway are processed by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Moscow.
Please note that for all applicantions the applicant have to submit their passport when he/she submit the application. The passport will be send to the Norwegian embassy in Moscow for document control before it can be returned to the applicant. For applicants having to travel to another country to submit their application, please have this in mind and consider where you should submit your application and wait for your passport to be returned. If the applicant travels to Moscow and submit at VFS there the return of passport can be done in a few days only.
