To honour this milestone, the Norwegian Embassy organized a special walking event in the heart of Nicosia in May 2024. This wasn't just any walk; it was a journey through history, culture, and the impactful projects and people that have united our nations over the years.
The walk began at the Centre for Visual Arts and Research, weaving through the old city of Nicosia, and concluding at the Home for Cooperation in the UN-controlled buffer zone.
The event culminated in a lively street party with performances by the bicommunal band Island Seeds and the Zildji & Hiktune Project.
Thank you to everyone who helped organize this amazing event and to all who participated. This walk was a testament to our shared desire for peace and understanding, transcending past divisions, and looking towards a shared future. We are proud to have marked this anniversary with you and will continue working together towards a green, competitive, and inclusive Europe.
