Visitor’s visa and residence permit

A visitor's visa allows you to stay in Norway or other Schengen countries for up to 90 days over a period of 180 days. A residence permit gives you the opportunity to work in Norway and to stay for more than 90 days.

Applicants from Cambodia can submit their Schengen visa applications through the French Embassy in Phom Phen, or alternatively through VFS application center in Bangkok, Thailand. Residence permit applications can be submitted only through VFS in Bangkok.

It is the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) who is responsible for processing applications for residence permits. Please visit UDI's website for more information.

Norwegian citizenship applications

The Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok is responsible for receiving the following citizenship applications:

  • notification of citizenship for children with a Norwegian father
  • retention of Norwegian citizenship
  • reacquisition of Norwegian citizenship
