Notarial services

According to the Foreign Service act §13, the Embassy may perform any notarial service which a notarius publicus in Norway may perform, if it is to the advantage of a Norwegian citizen, or if the service is related to Norway.

This includes the following services:

  • Verify that a document is original
  • Certified copy
  • Verify signatures
  • Verify that a person is alive (leveattest)
  • Power of Attorney

The Embassy may only make a certified copies of Norwegian original documents, e.g. Norwegian passports, school transcripts, birth certificates, and residence certificates. The Embassy cannot certify a copy of Cuban identity documents or other documents issued in Cuba.

The fee must be paid to the Embassy's Norwegian bank account in DNB: account number 7694.05.13797. Please send the embassy a confirmation of payment by email at emb.havana@mfa.no, so that we may provide an appointment for your visit at the Embassy. 

Note: 

  • The document you wish to have signed must be prepared before your visit. If you wish to sign a power attorney, you must bring the power of attorney to your appointment, including your passport, and sign in front of the officer.
  • You must have familiarized yourself with the content and requirements before you meet for your appointment.
  • Some requests for notarial services require several days to be completed.
