The Consulate General in Rio de Janeiro is committed to positioning Norway and Norwegian businesses as a preferred partner for Brazil. Norway aims to be a strong collaborator in the green transition through investments, technology, and sustainable, low-carbon solutions, particularly in priority sectors such as energy and maritime.
Working closely with the broader Team Norway network, the Consulate General promotes Norwegian businesses in Brazil in line with the government’s strategy, “Whole of Norway Exports.” The Advisor will help strengthen relationships with government authorities and industry organizations, while contributing to favorable framework conditions for Norwegian companies.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of tasks including, but not limited
to:
- Identifying opportunities and organizing business promotion efforts
- Being a key member of the Business Promotion team
- Collaborate with Team Norway, consisting of Norwegian business entities and governmental bodies
- Managing grants and projects funded by the Consulate General
- Maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders from private and public sector in Brazil
- Monitoring, analyzing and reporting on economic and political developments
- Contribute to external communications, like producing content for the Consulate General’s social media accounts
- Contributing to organizing visits and events
The list of tasks is not exhaustive, and other tasks may be added as decided by the Consul General.
Qualifications:
- Higher education (Masters Degree)
- Relevant work experience in areas such as diplomatic missions, government, private sector companies, or research
- Preferably experience in a Norwegian environment, either in government or private companies
- Demonstrated expertise in business promotion and/or energy transition
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Portuguese
- Resourceful, with excellent work capacity; able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Proven experience in social media, with strong communication and networking skills
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and punctuality
- Service-oriented mindset with adaptability and flexibility

We would like the candidate to be able to start as soon as possible, but no later than February 1st 2026. The position is offered for one year, ending no later than January 31st 2027, with the possibility of extension (full-time position).
