Position type: One year temporary position with the possibility for extension, 100% position.
Main purpose of the job:
Primary task is to drive embassy vehicles for ambassador, embassy staff and guests, but also to carry out diverse practical jobs at the embassy compound, caretaker services and message delivery.
Previous experience as driver is required, experience as a handy person is an advantage.
Good command of written and spoken English and Japanese is necessary.
Japanese driver’s licence is necessary.
Intercultural understanding, good communication skills, efficiency, service-mindedness, flexibility, good time management skills and a friendly attitude. The candidate must be honest and reliable.
Expected monthly salary in the range between JPY 475 000 and JPY 550 000, dependent on experience and qualifications. Membership of Japan Pension Service and for Labour Insurance is compulsory and the employer will cover part of the cost for this.
All applicants must have a legal basis to work in Japan, either as Japanese citizen or with the correct visa/status of work permit in case of non-Japanese applicants.
Staff members recruited locally by the Norwegian Embassy are subject to Japanese employment law.
