Ibsen Awards offers funding of theatre performances world-wide. Ibsen Scholarships are awarded projects that are innovative, act as incentives for critical discourse and are based on one or more of Henrik Ibsen’s plays.
Individual artists, theatre companies, organisations and institutions can apply for the scholarships. The application deadline for the Ibsen Scholarships is 30 April 2019. The scholarship program amount to a total of NOK 2,000,000 (Approx. USD 229,000).
The Ibsen Scholarships were initiated by the Norwegian government and will be handed out for the 10th time in 2019. The winners of the Ibsen Scholarships 2019 will be presented at the Ibsen Awards Festival 23 – 24 October at Teater Ibsen in Skien, Norway.

Many of the works of the famous Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen (1828-1906) have been published and staged in Vietnam including the famous A Dolls’ House.
Over the years, the Embassy in Hanoi has supported many Ibsen Festivals and side events in Vietnam, a delegation from Vietnam Dramatic Theater to attend the International Ibsen Festival in Oslo, and assisted the Vietnam Writers’ Association in publishing a special review on Ibsen.
