Crown Prince Haakon visits Texas March 13-14

Norway’s Crown Prince Haakon is visiting the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) festival March 13-14 to promote Norwegian music and entrepreneurship.

As an official SXSW presenter, Crown Prince Haakon will give a talk on innovating the Nordic Way, discussing what motivates Norwegians to start their own companies.

SXSW provides a unique platform for Norwegian entrepreneurs, start-up companies and representatives from the creative industries to showcase themselves to an international arena.

The Crown Prince’s program includes visits to events with Norwegian participants in the fields of technology, design and music, as well as attending the exhibition areas. He will also meet the Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, and the Mayor of Austin, Steve Adler.

Starting as a pure music festival in 1987, the event has developed into a large-scale international arena for music, film and technology in its widest sense. It is probably the largest conference of its kind in the world and has strengthened Austin’s position as a trend-setting city in the convergence of art, music and digital technology. The festival is a key arena for networking in a range of sectors and offers opportunities for the many companies and players participating from Norway.

Ambassador Kåre R.Aas will be accompanying the Crown Prince throughout the visit. Follow his observations on his twitter account here: https://twitter.com/kareraas
