CALENDAR OF NORWEGIAN CULTURAL EVENTS JANUARY - MARCH 2018

The Norwegian Consulate General in Houston will every three months release a calendar with a list of Norwegian related events such as concerts, movie screenings, art exhibitions, sporting event, theatrical productions et cetera that take place in our states of jurisdiction (TX, OK, AR, KS, NE, LA, MO, MS, AL, FL, PR and USVI). Do you know of any Norwegian related events? Concert in Alabama, exhibition in Kansas, theater production in Texas etc.? January 2018

Sunday 7:

  • Galveston Symphony Orchestra
    • Norwegian music director and conductor Trond Sæverud will conduct the Galveston Symphony Orchestra who will play a pops concert (traditional pop and showtunes) called Happy New Year

  • Movie screening of Thelma
    • Screening of Norway’s candidate for the Oscar nomination as Best Foreign-Language Feature, “Thelma”. The movie stars EIli Harboe in the role of Thelma, a young student drawn to another woman and is overwhelmed by emotions and inexplicable powers.
